The Music Blog

So this will just be what I've been recently listening to, probably being updated inconsistently.

October 23, 2025: About a week ago, I started listening to a playlist created from a book titled "In Defense of Ska" (I haven't read the book tho.) I've found some great music that matches my tastes more than what Spotify can recommend to me, but I think it's led me to find my new favorite band (sorry, Aquabats.)

They're called Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, and their music takes all the energy and upbeat feelings of The Aquabats, and combines it with a bit more jazzy flavor and Japanese vocals. It's honestly as close to my perfect music taste as I think I'll get from a band.

As of writing this, I've only made it through one and a half albums of theirs, but I'm already hooked. I'll probably post here again if anything major changes, but if I don't just assume their other albums are similar and I enjoy them aswell.

August 8, 2025: I just realized how good the soundtrack to Squid Game is (if you enjoy cinematic stuff.) Dang, it can get sad. I've also just finished Jaymoji's playthrough of Donkey Kong Bananza, and the Bananza themes are absolutely fantastic. Nintendo is just really good at making nonsense lyrics, ig. Finally, I would like to link a music video that I actually had the opportunity of doing some art for: Black Crayon (I'm also putting it here cuz I like the song, not just cuz I did work for it.)

July 1, 2025: Just a week or two ago, I decided to try creating my own theme song, based on some spooky tunes. I found the overture from Phantom of the Opera, some songs I played while I was in band, and the band Ludo have some stuff that really works for a spooky yet not scary vibe. So I've been listening to stuff like that for the past week lol.

Mid March, 2025: My most recent favorites are from a game I recently bought called Everhood 2. I haven't even come close to beating the game yet, but the music is just fantastic so far. It's got a very Undertale-type feel with a really interesting amount of variety that makes every song feel fresh.
